HarperLloyd Recruitment is partnering with a leading national insurance law firm to appoint an Insurance Special Counsel into its established Brisbane practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced defendant insurance lawyer looking for quality work, strong client relationships and a firm where culture genuinely sets it apart.

The role

Working alongside experienced Insurance Partners, you'll act for major insurers across a diverse range of matters, including:

• Public liability claims
• Personal injury matters
• Property damage claims
• Complex defendant insurance disputes
• Coverage and liability issues
• Claims management and strategic advice
• Litigation and dispute resolution

You'll have the opportunity to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy, develop long-term client relationships and play an important role in mentoring and supporting junior lawyers within the team.

The Brisbane practice is well established and highly regarded, with a strong team culture and a genuine commitment to supporting people both professionally and personally.

About you

You'll ideally have:

• Significant post-admission experience in defendant insurance
• Strong experience in public liability matters
• A solid understanding of personal injury and/or property damage claims
• Excellent technical, drafting and advocacy skills
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• The ability to manage matters autonomously and commercially
• A collaborative approach and genuine interest in mentoring junior practitioners
